Kharun Expressway to be constructed from Bhatagaon to Kumhari : Chief Minister gives instructions to prepare proposal after survey

To make Raipur’s lifeline Kharun River pollution-free, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has given instructions to conduct survey for construction of express-way on both the riverbanks from Bhatagaon to Kumhari and to chalk out project for the same. He also directed officials concerned to include beautification of the river and development of gardens on unused government lands at appropriate locations on riverbanks in the plan of expressway construction* This project will be executed under the joint aegis of Urban Administration, Water Resource and PWD along with other departments concerned.
In the meeting, Chief Minister gave instructions to Urban Administration Minister Dr Shiv Kumar Daharia and Chief Secretary RP Mandal to do spot inspection with concerned department officials and chalk out the preliminary outline.

Chief Minister was reviewing the works of Urban Administration Department, Revenue and Calamity Management Department at his residence office today. The meeting was attended by Urban Administration Minister Dr Shiv Kumar Dahariya, Revenue and Calamity management Minister Jaisingh Agrawal, Chief Secretary RP Manda, Chief Minister’s Additional Chief Secretary Subrat Sahu, Secretary Urban Administration Alermelmangai D, Registrar Commercial Tax P Sangeetha, Revenue Secretary Reeta Sandily, Director Industry Anil Tuteja, Inspector General Registry and Stamp Mr. Dharmesh Sahu, Director Land Record Mr. Ramesh Sharma, Deputy Secretary Chief Minister’s Secretariat Saumya Chaurasiya and senior officials.


In the meeting, Chief Minister appreciated the steps being taken by Urban Administration Department to make the city tanker-free. He said that ongoing works under Amrit Mission for improving drinking water-supply should be completed at an accelerated pace. Chief Minister directed the Urban Administration officials to now launch a drive to make the cities cattle-free. This drive should be commenced from Raipur city. At the appropriate locations under Municipal Corporation Raipur jurisdiction, cowsheds should be built in upcoming one month. Chief Minister said that soon after construction of urban cowsheds, the stray cattle on the roads of Raipur city should be shifted to these cowsheds. If despite the aforementioned measures, cattle are found roaming on the road, then the private owners of these cattle should be fined.
In the meeting, effective implementation of Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme was discussed in detail. Minister Mr. Daharia informed that total 120 mobile medical units will be required to provide doorstep health facility in slum areas of all the cities of the state. In the first phase, the process of conducting 60 medical mobile units in 14 Municipal areas is being given the final shape. He gave information about the facilities available in the mobile medical unit. Minister Dahariya informed that nearly one lakh 71 thousand families will be benefited by the scheme.


In the meeting, Minister Dahariya also informed about houses constructed under Mor Awas-Mor Chinhari and Mor Zameen-Mor Makaan schemes. Chief Minister directed the department officials to follow the necessary proceduce to ensure allocation of houses built under the schemes to eligible beneficiaries in need. Chief Minister directed the department officials to take necessary actions as per the rules to conduct auction of he land returned by SADA to Municipal Corporation Bhilai. He also directed the officials concerned to do allotment of shops and commercial assets built by municipal bodies as soon as possible so as to ensure its proper utilization.


In the meeting, Chief Minister gave instructions to utilize unused government land and buildings available under municipal bodies for establishing Indira Diagnostics Centre. In the meeting, sanctioned and ongoing works under the schemes such as Chief Minister Ward Office, Pauni Pasari Yojana were also reviewed. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel emphasized over the effective implementation of Mukhyamantri Mitaan Yojana saying that citizens should be provided benefits of government services at their doorstep under this scheme. He directed officials concerned to development online monitoring system for the same.
In the meeting, Chief Minister gave instructions to make at least one pond pollution-free in each municipal area of the state and also ensure its beautification. He directed that sewer water should not be released in ponds and rivers and necessary measures should be taken to ensure the same. Secretary Urban Administration Mrs. Alermelmangai D informed that effective implementation of tanker-free city drive for last three years has resulted in 38% decline in use of tankers for water-supply in cities. In the meeting, Centre-funded schemes were also reviewed.
